I read “The happiest man on earth” by Albert Maltz

This story is Jesse who have wife and child but not earned enough money, met his brother-in-law Tom Brackett who hadn’t seen each other for five years and begged him get a job. But that job have the problem of dangerous,… that was conveying nitroglycerin and by doing that job recently people had died, of course that job can get huge money, so Jesse beg him so earnestly but Tom stop get that job…… continued argue thorough this, getting job… at the last scene Jesse got the job and said “I’m the happiest man in the world.”.

This story was fascinating the conflict consists of two man which one select, whether love or life for Jesse. I’m so impressed the depictions of Jesse changes that was so poor from solid body. I tried to correct next- “He had tried to spruce up at a drinking fountain in the park, but even that had gone badly; in his excitement he had cut himself shaving, an ugly gash down the side of his cheek.”, “Jesse pulled his feet back under the chair. He was ashamed of his shoes. They had come from the Relief originally, and two weeks on the road had about finished them.”.

I felt interesting using the phrase “photograph”, on this story when Tom re-met Jesse depict like this “It was like looking at a faded, badly taken photograph and trying to recognize the subject”, also recently I read “The Killers” by Hemingway, there was the scene using photograph when a killer said to the man who was banded like next- “Stand a little further along the bar. You move a little to the left, Max.” He was like a photographer arranging for a group picture.”
