I read “The three day blow” by Earnest Hemingway

This story have related to “The end of something”, because the character in this story similar to in the character “The end of something” I felt.

Nick came to the house of Bill in the blowing for three days. They talked about baseball and the business of each other’s father. With drink, they furthermore talked-this is the main theme in this story-Nick’s love with girlfriend, he was recently decided to left and Bill said him that was nice, “Once a man’s married he’s absolutely bitched,…He hasn’t got any thing more. Nothing. Not a damn thing. He’s done for. You’ve seen the guys that get married.” In opposite of consolation from Bill, Nick felt sorry for the girlfriend. But Bill went on……and said “We won’t ever speak about it again. You don’t want to think about it. You might get back into it again.” Nick didn’t notice about it-in other words he could meet his girlfriend again. He felt happy. The wind blew it out of their head.

The impressive scene in this story was “Nick smiled at the face in the mirror and it grinned back at him. He winked at it and went on. It was not his face…” I frightened because that scene came out suddenly not so related to the plot of this story. I like two sentence as follows, first was Nick said to Bill after Nick’s love finished all of sudden “I don’t know why it was. I couldn’t help it. Just like when the three-day blows come now and rip all the leaves off the trees. Second was after talking about whether Nick was engaged or not- “All right,” said Nick. “Let’s get drunk.” “All right,” Bill said. “Let’s get really drunk.” “Let’s get drunk and then go swimming,” Nick said. I adore this atmosphere in the blow repeatedly said “Let’s drunk.” And went swimming.
